According to a post on social media, the new fried seafood-centric eatery known as JW’s Fish and Biscuits is ready to roll.
The Burn first told readers about plans for JW’s back in October.
Now, the owner has shared a video on social media in which he said a soft opening was starting today — Thursday, December 5 — with just a few menu items available, primarily side dishes.
The sides include mac-and-cheese, potato salad, collard greens, and cole slaw. He invited people to stop by and try them.
The official soft launch of JW’s is scheduled for this coming Monday, December 9. Initially, the focus will be on roughly five or so of the fish items on the menu.
The larger menu has 15 or more items on it and will be rolled out in the coming days and weeks.
The Burn has reached out requesting to see the menu, but we haven’t gotten a copy yet. JW’s website doesn’t appear to be active yet.
However, in social media posts, we’ve seen dishes such as shrimp & grits, fried breaded shrimp, a catfish po’ boy sandwich, Old Bay shrimp, and fried hot wings.
JW’s Fish and Biscuits — which has a great little logo — is located at 101 Executive Drive in Suite 101A in Sterling.
That’s the same building where Johnny Ray’s Sultry Soul Food was located before it closed back in August.
