Pizzeria Loco launches vintage pizza pie truck in Loudoun

A new mobile pizza kitchen has launched in Loudoun County — and it’s one of the darn coolest food trucks we’ve ever seen.

It’s called Pizzeria Loco and it’s housed in a retrofitted 1951 GMC truck, complete with a imported wood-fired Italian oven.

The new truck specializes in Neapolitan-style pizzas featuring “large airy crusts and inventive toppings.”

“Classic cheese and pepperoni pizzas keep it familiar,” said owners Tony and Emma Zuccaro. “But we love pushing boundaries with creations like The Very Big Dill—a fan favorite featuring a ranch base, fontina and mozzarella cheese, fresh dill, Long Stone Farm’s thinly shaved ham, and Route 11 Dill Pickle Chips for the ultimate crunch.”

The truck started a soft launch over the Thanksgiving weekend at its home base at the Wheatland Spring Farm + Brewery. That’s in Waterford in northern LoCo.

They will be primarily there for the rest of the year (December 14, 21, 22, 28) and into the new year.

Pizzeria Loco will celebrate a grand opening this coming spring and start catering private events and may appear at other venues as well.
