The handover has officially happened. What was once Fire Works Pizza in Sterling’s Cascades Overlook center is now Mika’s Neapolitan Pizza.
As The Burn first reported last month, the family behind Fire Works decided to sell the Sterling restaurant and scale back after the passing of their patriarch, Kevin Malone, earlier this year.
They are keeping their Fire Works locations in Leesburg and Arlington as well as their other restaurant endeavors, including Tuskies in Leesburg and Magnolias at the Mill in Purcellville.
At Mika’s, the menu may still focus on pizza, but there are plenty of different kinds of pies as well as other dishes to show that the new owners are forging their own path.
For one thing, there are pasta dishes such as Chicken Alla Vodka, Fettuccine Jambalaya, and Beef Stroganoff.
The pizza line-up includes Green Pizza with pesto sauce, fresh mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, and olive oil; a Capricciosa with cream rose, fresh mozzarella, mushrooms, artichoke, olives, ham, basil, and olive oil; and the unique sounding Sausage and Fries, which comes topped with house tomato sauce, house cheese blend, sausage, and hand cut fries.
There are also starters, salads, calzones, and more. You can see the full Mika’s Neapolitan Pizza menu here.
