A new Japanese restaurant is getting ready to open soon in Fairfax County. It’s called Shō Sushi & Izakaya.
Izakaya is a Japanese word that is similar in meaning to a casual pub — a place to relax with drinks and some shared plates of food.
“Immerse yourself in the world of sushi & izakaya,” the restaurant’s Facebook page reads. “Fine Japanese cuisine with (a) western twist.”
Shō Sushi will be located at 6828 Old Dominion Drive in McLean.
The signage went up this week and the restaurant has shared some interior images on social media.
So far, no details on the menu, but it should be coming soon. We’re told they are aiming for a January opening if all goes smoothly.
