The new Ford’s Fish Shack restaurant in southern Loudoun County is just about ready for business — if a winter storm doesn’t get in the way.
The Burn stopped by the new location at the East Gate Marketplace shopping center off Highway 50 in the Chantilly section of the county.
That’s the same center with a Harris Teeter grocery store, the giant King Spa, and the Social House and Velocity Wings restaurants.
We spoke with the owners who said their intention is to open as soon as Tuesday or Wednesday this week, weather permitting.
But they admit, the predicted snow storm coming overnight Sunday into Monday has thrown a bit of a monkey wrench into their plans. With the holidays, some last minute shipments and supplies have been delayed, and the storm could exacerbate that.
As regular readers know, Ford’s closed their location in the South Riding Market Square retail center back in July 2023 in order to build a new location down the road at East Gate.
The former Ford’s space recently reopened as the second Sense of Thai restaurant in the area.
When the new roughly 6,000 s.f. Ford’s opens, it will once again be the third location in Loudoun. There are already outposts of Ford’s in Ashburn at the Cameron Chase Village Center and in Lansdowne at the Lansdowne Town Center.
