We’ve got some interesting news regarding the new Deli Italiano restaurant planned for Leesburg — plus a target window for when they hope to open.
Loyal readers may recall that it was more than a year ago that The Burn reported on Deli Italiono’s plans to open a location at 5 Catoctin Circle SE. That’s the former home of the Aiyrara Thai restaurant.
Turns out Deli Italiano isn’t the only thing going in there. The owner of the brand — who bought the building — is currently splitting the former Aiyara space in half to create two separate restaurant spaces.
One side — about 1,600 s.f. — will be Deli Italiano while the other side — about 1,500 s.f. — will be an as-of-yet-unnamed restaurant.
The owner shared the image above with us which shows what the building will look like when the work is done. It’s a major makeover from the current old-fashioned structure that stands there.
The Deli Italiano space will include a dining room, patio seating, as well as offering delivery and carry out.
They will have all their usual menu favorites like sandwiches, wings, salads, plus beer and wine and, of course, their popular pizza pies and pizza by the slice options as well.

Deli Italiano was founded in 1990 and currently has four locations — Lansdowne, Herndon, Great Falls, and Arlington. They have two more in the works — Leesburg, plus one in Reston.
Right now they are targeting a late spring/early summer opening for the Leesburg location.
