Loudoun County’s loss is Fairfax County’s gain. A popular local frozen custard shop is moving from Ashburn over to Reston.
Readers of The Burn were disappointed when we reported that The Meadows Original Frozen Custard was closing its longtime shop in the One Loudoun development in Ashburn. The final day was in early December.
At the time, the owner told us he was hoping to find a new location and now it sounds like The Meadows has found a landing spot.
According to a social media post from the store, The Meadows plans to open in the South Lakes Village Shopping Center in Reston sometime this spring.
That’s the strip center off South Lakes Drive with a Safeway, a CVS, a Chipotle, and many other businesses.
The shop specializes in vanilla, chocolate, and other flavors of frozen custard made from a recipe dating back to 1950. Besides cones and sundaes, the Meadows’ menu has shakes, Italian ices, smoothies, and more.
