Well, what do you know. It was just a few days ago that The Burn mentioned in story that the former Cheng’s Oriental Restaurant in Sterling had been empty for going on eight years — when lo and behold — we find out a new restaurant is taking over the spot.
Paperwork has been filed with Loudoun County that indicates an establishment called Caramella Cafe will be moving into the roughly 6,500 s.f. space in the Parc City Center in Sterling.
That’s the shopping plaza formerly known as the Regal Center at the intersection of Route 7 and Davenport Drive.
We don’t have any details on what type of restaurant Caramella Cafe will be, but it appears to be affiliated with the Iskandar Restaurant Group.
This is a company that owns and operates a number of different restaurant concepts in the DC market, including Burger 7, The Block, and Villa Yara.
We didn’t see any of their restaurants in Loudoun County, so the planned Caramella Cafe may be their first one in the area.
We have messages in to the folks at Iskandar Restaurant Group for more details on their plans for the former Cheng’s space — so stay tuned.
