Fundraiser underway to support Loudoun’s Beyer family

The loss of so many lives in Wednesday’s crash of an American Eagle commercial jet has impacted Loudoun County deeply. At least six of the victims were local residents and many more had ties to the community through the Ashburn Ice House.

Now we have learned that a GoFundMe page has been set up to support the Beyer family of Aldie.

Brielle Beyer, 12, and her mother, Justyna Beyer, were returning from a skating event in Wichita aboard the doomed flight. Brielle’s father and brother are left behind to grieve.

If you would like to help the Beyer family, here is the GoFundMe link that local friends have set up to benefit the Beyers. As of this writing, it has collected more than $43,000 with a goal of $100,000.

“Brielle was a bright light, carried a charming smile, and was known for her endless commitment to achieving goals. She had dreams as big as the sky, with a passion for figure skating,” the GoFundMe page reads. “Justyna, a devoted mother, exhibited unconditional love and support towards her two children and loving husband. She sacrificed so much to provide for Brielle’s future as an Olympic figure skater.”

The GoFundMe comes after a similar Meal Train fundraiser was set up to support the Beyer family. The spots on the Meal Train quickly filled up.
