It looks like a Loudoun County shawarma restaurant is set to expand with its second location. We’ve learned that a restaurant called Yummy Shawarma is in the works for a small shopping center in Ashburn.
According to documents filed with the county, Yummy Shawarma is working on a new restaurant in the Broadlands neighborhood at 42882 Truro Parish Drive in Unit 103. That spot appears to be a former insurance office.
Yummy Shawarma already has one location found in the food court over at the Dulles Town Center shopping mall.
Obviously, they specialize in shawarma, which they describe on their website as “a Levantine Arab meat preparation, where lamb, chicken, turkey, beef, veal, or mixed meats are placed on a spit and may be grilled for as long as a day. Shavings are cut off the block of meat for serving.”
It’s similar in concept to a Turkish döner or a Greek gyro.
The Yummy Shawarma menu includes platters served with rice or fries, as well as wraps and sandwiches in fresh baked pitas. You can see the full Yummy Shawarma menu here.
No opening date yet, but we are told they hope to be ready to go by the spring.
The tiny shopping center on Truro Parish where Yummy Shawarma is going made headlines recently after it lost three prominent businesses in a matter of days.
A 7-Eleven closed there, as did the Good Fortune Chinese restaurant, and the Neighbors Bar & Grill. So, a new restaurant coming in has to be a small sign of good news.
