A new Thai restaurant has been in the works for several months now and we’ve managed to get some new details on the plans.
As we first reported last July, a restaurant called Thaitan Thai is coming to the Shoppes at Ryan Park shopping plaza in Ashburn.
It’s going into a vacant 1,600 s.f. space tucked in between Wayback Burgers (formerly known as Jake’s Wayback Burgers) and the recently closed Giant supermarket.
The Thaitan Thai team tells The Burn that they will be basing the menu on authentic Thai family recipes and specializing in noodle and rice dishes.
Some of the dishes planned include Thai street food classics like Tom Yum Koong, Kao Mun Gai, and Moo Krob, as well as noodle bowls, curries, and stir fry dishes.
The restaurant will have a dining room that seats roughly 36-40 people and, of course, they will offer items for takeaway as well.
Construction is still underway on the space, so no official opening date to announce yet, but we are told if all goes smoothly, they are aiming for mid to late March.
