Good eye, David. It is indeed a hotel. The structure going up next to the University Commerce Center off George Washington Boulevard is a Hilton Home2 Suites hotel.
Home2 Suites is an “extended stay” hotel meaning they can accommodate guests for longer stays with rooms that feature kitchenettes and other amenities.
We actually reported on the plans for a Hilton hotel there way back in 2019. The Burn likes to play the long game sometimes.
The folks building the hotel report they are aiming for a December 2025 opening if everything stays on track.
