A new shop that specializes in various healthy fruit and grain bowls is coming to the Village at Leesburg center in Leesburg.
It’s called Playa Bowls — “playa” being Spanish for “beach” — and indeed, the brand has a motto that states: “Playa Bowls is your slice of summer, anytime.”
The new store is going into a roughly 800 s.f. space next door to the Rita’s Italian Ice shop. The space was previously occupied by a Custom Ink store.
Playa Bowls got its start in New Jersey and now has more than 200 locations. The closest one to Loudoun currently is at the Reston Town Center.
The menu at Playa Bowls includes açai bowls, pitaya bowls, mango bowls, smoothies, juices, cold pressed juices, and cold brews. You can check out the full array of options here.
As regular readers know, healthy fruit bowls of this nature have been all the rage for several years now as multiple brands — new and old — have started serving them.
Some of the local ones include Rush Bowls, South Block, Nautical Bowls, as well as smoothie shop Robeks.
