Petit Sablé franchise headed to Loudoun County

An interesting new food-centric business is headed to Loudoun County. It’s called Petit Sablé and we understand it is a bakery and cafe-style sweet shop.

Petit Sablé is taking the third and final vacant parcel of land at the corner of Highway 50 and Gateway Village Place. That’s next door to the Gum Spring Village Center retail plaza.

That’s the same spot where the new Arby’s restaurant is located, as well as the recently-opened The Human Bean drive-thru coffee shop. Petit Sablé is taking a spot next door to The Human Bean.

We are still waiting on more information, but it appears that Petit Sablé is a French-inspired brand that originally started in Egypt more than 50 years ago. Online, it says it was founded in 1971.

The shop apparently specializes in various cookies, pastries, and other baked goods. A “sablé” is a French-cookie similar to shortbread. We’ve also seen a few photos of sandwiches online, so that may be part of the menu too.

The Petit Sablé coming here to Virginia is reportedly a franchise. There are a handful of locations in Egypt, but the Loudoun location may be the first one in the United States.

We are still waiting on more details from the local franchisees, so no word yet on a timeline for when construction would start or when an opening might be scheduled.
