Back in February, we told you about plans for a new Indian cuisine restaurant coming to the spot that used to be home to The V Eatery in Ashburn.
Now, we’ve spoken to the owner and gotten a bunch of new details and some new images of what the restaurant will look like.
Viswanath Vasireddy owns and operates eight restaurants in the region — including some very well known ones.
We’re talking about places like the famed Clarity in Vienna, the Copperwood Tavern in Arlington (and formerly of One Loudoun also), the Dogfish Head Alehouse in Gaithersburg, Md., Bamboo Garden in Herndon, and several others.
He is also the owner of Bawarchis Biryanis restaurant in the Ashburn Eats restaurant center on Waxpool Road. That’s the same spot with the Moe’s Southwest Grill, the Five Guys, and the Santini’s NY Style Deli.
Vasireddy has decided to close Bawarchis and move a few doors over into the former V Eatery spot where he is creating his new restaurant.

The proper name of the restaurant will be Aura, with the tagline “Indian Food Paradise.”
Vasireddy says Aura will include a bakery, a full bar, a dining room, plus private dining rooms for special events. The restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus.
As far as the cuisine, it will be pan-Indian — meaning from both the north and the south regions of the country, which have very different cuisines. There will be both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes on the menu.
Things are clearly moving — The Burn reader Andrew Quach snapped us this photo of the Aura signs going up on the building.

Right now, Vasireddy says he is aiming for a mid-April opening if everything goes smoothly. We will keep you posted when an opening date is announced.
