The St. James Football Club continues its ascension as a force within the DMV Soccer landscape with its acceptance into the MLS Next League for the upcoming 2025-2026 season.
A club that four short years ago, coming out of Covid was reduced to just a couple hundred players has grown to nearly 5,000 participants across its different competitive platforms.
“Our focus on the grassroots side of the club and being very purposeful around creating a variety of different playing opportunities has been a key reason for the club’s success,” said Adam Baumgardner, Technical Director for The St. James FC. “We’ve really tried to bring the game back to the players and our members, focusing on customer service and being great stewards of the game. The growth that we’ve seen from our 2-12 year old age groups has been incredible. We always tell our staff that success is not accident. Instead, it is a culmination of four years of driving exceptional recreational and grassroots experiences to our members.”
Acceptance into MLS Next now provides The St. James FC national pathways for competition and development for both the boys and girls programs for players U13-U19.
