A Nepalese street food kiosk in Ashburn is reportedly making a move into its own space and will become a full-fledged restaurant.
And it could be opening a second location as well.
As The Burn reported last year, when the new Kirana Pasal Himalayan market opened in the Ashburn Square plaza in Old Ashburn, it included a takeaway food kiosk inside called Tempo Shack Nepalese Street Eats.
Now fast forward nine months, and we’ve learned that Tempo Shack is planning on moving into the space right next door where it will become a freestanding Nepalese restaurant. The windows of the space (to the left) are already papered over.
An employee at the market says when the new Tempo Shack opens, it will include a full bar.
The menu currently includes traditional Nepalese dishes such as momos, pani puri, aloo nimki, and even a variety of soda pops commonly found in the South Asian country. We’re guessing it will expand its offerings when the new location launches.
The current timeline calls for the new Tempo Shack restaurant to open in roughly 3-4 months – so likely sometime this summer.
Interestingly, we were also told the owners are working on opening a second Tempo Shack location in DC. So Loudoun could be on the front end of burgeoning restaurant chain.
