The new Dairy Queen Chill & Grill restaurant in Sterling has officially opened its doors. It’s the second Chill & Grill location in Loudoun County.
The Chill & Grill concept goes beyond the usual ice cream treats of a typical Dairy Queen and offers more of a full fast-food experience. The menu includes burgers, chicken tenders, hot dogs, French fries, and more.
The new DQ can be found at 22060 Railcar Drive. That’s in the Guilford Station development right by the new Goodwill Store that opened last year.
It was nearly three years ago – way back in June 2022 – when The Burn first reported that we suspected a Chill & Grill was in the works for the spot. DQ plays the long game and so does The Burn.
There are three other DQs in Loudoun County. One in Leesburg also features the Chill & Grill menu, while stores in Ashburn and South Riding are “treat only” locations.
The new Sterling DQ – which has a drive-thru lane – is proudly promoting that it’s the first freestanding Dairy Queen in Northern Virginia. Apparently, all the rest are found in strip centers, malls, or other non-freestanding locations.
