Lifetime considering huge new fitness club for Loudoun

The folks behind the Lifetime fitness club brand are considering building a huge new facility in Loudoun County. That’s according to documents filed with the county.

The proposal calls for a roughly 102,000 s.f. Lifetime building to be built at the upcoming Cedar Terrace development in South Riding. The gym would include a large outdoor pool and six outdoor pickleball courts.

The news of Lifetime’s plans was first reported by the Washington Business Journal.

The Burn has written about Cedar Terrace before. You can see our reports here.

It’s a planned retail and residential development that would go up on the south side of Route 50 near the intersection with Loudoun County Parkway. It would be just to the north of the South Riding Market Square project, basically behind the Home Depot store.

At one time, the Cedar Terrace property was part of the Avonlea project that is going up slowly nearby. But eventually the owners of the Cedar Terrace property broke away and planned their own development – adjacent to but separate from Avonlea.

Right now, the Lifetime plans are just in the early stages. Basically, the company is looking to discuss their vision with county officials to explore its feasibility.

If the project comes to fruition, it will be the second Lifetime location in Loudoun. There is already a huge Lifetime fitness center in Sterling off Prentice Drive.
