Aura Indian Food Paradise announces opening dates in Ashburn

An upscale new Indian restaurant coming to Loudoun County has shared its debut menu and announced its opening dates.

We’re talking about the Aura Indian Food Paradise (which has to be one of the better restaurant names we’ve heard).

Aura has taken over the long vacant spot that used to be The V Eatery in Ashburn. That’s located in the Ashburn Eats restaurant center on Waxpool Road, near Moe’s Southwest Grill and Five Guys.

According to the owner, Aura will have a soft launch event on the evening of Thursday, May 1 starting at 5 p.m.

The grand opening will take place the following day, Friday, May 2, with hours from 11 a.m. to midnight.

The main menu at Aura – which runs five pages – features both familiar Indian favorites and plus a deeper dive into the cuisine of the subcontinent.

They have the famous Mulligatawny soup (a favorite here at The Burn), Samosas, Ginger Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, Biryanis, and Tandoori skewers to name just a few.

They also have Gunpowder French Fries, which are regular fries seasoned with roasted lentils, sesame seeds, dried red chilis, and other spices. They have Burnt Garlic Fried Rice, which is browned garlic tossed with rice and veggies. And they have Mutton Rogan Josh, a slow-cooked lamb curry dish from the Kashmir region.

You can see the full menu for Aura below. The restaurant will also have a separate bakery, a full bar, and private event spaces.
