It’s been a long time coming, but the new Painted Tree Boutiques store in Sterling has announced its opening day. The official day is Saturday, May 10.
Doors will open at 11 a.m., according to the store’s management.
The Burn first broke the news about Painted Tree coming to the Sugarland Crossing shopping center way back in May 2023.
Since that time, a second location for the brand was announced for the South Riding area, and that store was built and opened nearly a year ago – while the Sterling location seemed stalled.
But now, the work is finally done. The permits are issued. And the tenant vendors are ready to move in.
If you’re not familiar with Painted Tree Boutiques, it’s a national brand of stores that act as a brick-and-mortar home for small businesses – usually craftspeople, artists, and artisans.
These folks rent space inside the store to sell their products, but the store handles the staffing and the cashiering and so forth.
It’s similar in concept to an antiques mall, only instead of kiosks filled with antiques, you have home decor, jewelry, clothing, gift items, and more.
There are more than 50 Painted Tree Boutiques stores across the country, but here in Northern Virginia – there are only two – the locations in Loudoun County. No word yet if other area stores are planned.
