Shutters on King in Leesburg opens doors for a sneak peek

There’s still a lot of work to go on the new Shutters on King restaurant coming to downtown Leesburg. But today, the restaurant’s owners opened their doors to the public for a sneak peek.

The Shutters team decided to take advantage of the crowds coming to the Leesburg Flower & Garden Festival and build some excitement.

The Burn couldn’t resist the opportunity to walk through the space at 102 South King Street and talk to the owners as well.

Among the things we learned – the main floor (street level) will be home to a huge bar surrounded by a dining room. There are also additional dining spaces including a library room with bookshelves and an outdoor patio.

Downstairs, there will be a private dining room and wine cellar. Upstairs, more private dining spaces perfect for bridal showers, small wedding parties, and the like.

There will also be a rooftop space that can be used for additional party space, or as a lounge, or more dining tables.

Throughout the building, many of the original architectural details such as brick walls, an original fireplace, etc. have been preserved.

Shutters on King also had their blade sign installed on the corner of the building this week.

The menu at Shutters is expected to be filled with traditional American cuisine. Recent food photos posted on social media show items like sliders, steaks, and scallops.

There’s no official opening date yet, but we’re told if all goes smoothly, they are about two months out. So look for Shutters on King to start welcoming guests somewhere around the beginning of summer.
