Contour Airlines starts flights from Dulles International

A new regional airline has recently started service from Dulles International Airport to two destinations in the U.S.

Contour is flying 12 round-trips a week from IAD to Macon, Georgia and 12 round-trips a week from IAD to Plattsburgh, New York.

Service started last week on the airline’s Embraer ERJ-135 jets. Local officials see it as potential boost to tourism to the area.

“These new flights have started just in time for a busy travel season. Spring and summer offer excellent opportunities to visit Washington, D.C. It is now quick and easy for customers from Macon and Plattsburgh to experience the cherry blossoms, monuments and more,” said Tom Reich, director of Airline Business Development with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.

Based in Tennessee, Contour launched in 2016 and serves smaller airports in roughly 19 states.
