American Kolache opening first Virginia location in Loudoun

Well, this is something different. A growing kolache restaurant brand is expanding into Virginia and its first announced location will be in Loudoun County.

The Burn has learned that American Kolache is planning to open one of their bakeries in a 1,400 s.f. space at the Cameron Chase Village Center retail center.

That’s the spot next door to the Ashburn Ice House with the Ford’s Fish Shack and the Hangry Joe’s Hot Chicken restaurant.

If you are not familiar, a kolache is a Czech pastry that is now hugely popular in Texas and other central U.S. states. Traditional kolaches are made with a sweet, soft dough and have a fruit filling, but now some of the most popular types are savory ones – filled with meats and cheeses.

The menu at American Kolache includes both types. They offer Bacon, Egg and Cheese; Sausage & Gravy; Ham, Egg, Cheese & Jalapeño; a Philly Cheesesteak version and many others.

On the sweet side, they have Raspberry Cream Cheese; Apple Pie; Double Chocolate Brownie, and more. You can see more of the American Kolache menu below.

American Kolache got its start as St. Louis Kolache, but as the brand has expanded outside of the St. Louis area, they are adopting the American Kolache name.

Locally, the new store is being opened by Alex and Jing Stimpson of Aldie. They will be the owner/operators and we’re told – if all goes smoothly – they are targeting an early fall opening.
