The 2025 Upperville Colt & Horse Show, presented by MARS EQUESTRIAN, is the oldest horse show in the U.S. and will celebrate its 172nd year from Monday, June 2 to Sunday, June 8.
Attendees can watch amazing equestrians on horses and ponies competing in various disciplines in multiple rings all week. More than 1,200 pairs of horses and riders will compete in the event.
The show culminates on June 8 at 2 p.m. with the $200,000 Upperville Jumper Classic CSI4 featuring top world-class equestrians. The day’s entertainment includes junior and amateur riders, pony conformation (including pony foals).
One of the show’s best kept secrets? Overnight, the horse show grounds transform into one of the largest shopping experiences in Northern Virginia with more than 85 vendors selling everything from jewelry, clothing, and hats to tack and horse items, gifts, and home goods.
“Each year, we’ve create a mini shopping mall in the fields of Upperville, Virginia,” said Emily Day, executive director of the Upperville Horse Show. “This year, we have the largest number of vendors ever. It’s a shopping mecca.”
In addition to great shopping, the Upperville Horse Show also features great food options.
There is also an invitational car show on Sunday – “Horses & Horsepower” – for antique and muscle car enthusiasts..
The show is family-friendly – there’s plenty of room for children to roam and dogs are allowed. A Pup Parade on Saturday features junior dog lovers parading their furry friends around the main hunter ring.
