The first Buc-ee’s store in the state of Virginia has an official date scheduled for its opening. Right now, the famous company is planning on Monday, June 30.
Buc-ee’s will open off of Interstate 81 at Exit 240. That’s near the college town of Harrisonburg.
If you have been to a Buc-ee’s store – you know what all the hype is about. If you haven’t, it’s difficult to describe.
Buc-ee’s is a Texas based retailer that builds gas stations and convenience stores along major highways throughout the United States.
But the terms “gas station” and “convenience store” really don’t do Buc-ee’s justice. Where a typical gas station might have 10 or even 20 fueling stations, the new Buc-ee’s will have 120 gas pumps.
And where a typical c-store might be 2,000 to 3,000 s.f., the Buc-ee’s near Harrisonburg will be 74,000 s.f. That’s the size of a large gym or a big box store.
Besides selling all kinds of hot food items, beverages, and snack items, Buc-ee’s is known for its large offering of various kinds of jerky, its ultra-clean bathrooms, and its merchandise area that usually has clothing, home decor, and many other items.
A second Buc-ee’s location in Virginia is in the works at a spot off Interstate 64 near Richmond, and there have been reports of a proposed third location off I-95 near Stafford.
