There’s been a rush of Middle Eastern-themed coffee shops into Northern Virginia and Loudoun County is no exception. The sign at the upcoming Qamaria Yemeni Coffee shop went up this week.
As The Burn reported back in December, Qamaria is taking a space in the Shoppes at Potomac Corner retail center in Sterling.
They are going in right next door to the new Big Greek Cafe (which was previously the SouvlakiBar restaurant).
This will be the second store in NoVa for the Qamaria brand. They opened another brick-and-mortar location over in Vienna last year.
The menu includes hot and iced espresso and cappuccino-style drinks, as well as Yemeni specialities such as Mufawaar, a blend of medium roast coffee with cardamom and cream; and the Sheeba, a traditional drink made from spiced coffee husks and infused with ginger and cinnamon.
Qamaria is hoping to be ready to open sometime this summer.
Other Middle Eastern brands coming to the area include Shotted, a Saudi Arabian-themed brand has locations in Tysons Corner and Sterling, and Filli Cafe which is coming to Chantilly. Filli Cafe originated in the United Arab Emirates.
