Report: Slim Chickens moving into Northern Virginia

A new restaurant chain specializing in chicken fingers and chicken sandwiches is moving into Northern Virginia and the greater DC market.

The brand is called Slim Chickens and the company is planning its first location in Manassas. That’s according to the Washington Business Journal which first reported the news Monday morning.

Slim Chickens is based in Arkansas and was founded in 2003. It has more than 200 locations around the United States as well as overseas, most notably in the United Kingdom.

Besides chicken tenders, the Slim Chicken’s menu also features mac and cheese bowls, fried pickles, fried mushrooms, fried okra, and other treats. You can see the full menu here.

According to the WBJ report, Vigario Management Corp. – a local hospitality company – has signed a deal to open 12 Slim Chickens locations in Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware in the coming years.

They hope to open that first Manassas location sometime in 2026.

The market for chicken finger-focused restaurants seems to be insatiable. Brands with similar menus such as Raising Cane’s, Layne’s, and Zaxby’s are already active in Northern Virginia.
