Social House leaving, Makers Union Pub coming to Ashburn

A big change is coming to a popular restaurant and bar in Ashburn’s Goose Creek Village shopping center.

That’s where The Burn has learned that the Social House Kitchen & Tap will be transitioning to a different restaurant concept called Makers Union Pub.

The Social House first opened in Ashburn back in 2018. It’s one of two locations for the brand, the other one being in South Riding/Chantilly in southern Loudoun.

Now, Social House will be going away in Ashburn and it’s being replaced by Makers Union, which has three area locations, including one at the Reston Town Center.

Both Social House and Makers Union are part of the Thompson Restaurants company, so the spot in Ashburn is staying in the family, so to speak.

If you haven’t been to Makers Union before, the menu really crosses into lots of different cuisines.

They have a Thai She Crab Soup, Nashville Hot Chicken Tenders, a Prime Rib French Dip, Makers Signature Mac & Cheese, Makers Nachos, New Zealand Lamb Lollipops, and much more.

The menu also has craft cocktails, desserts, and a weekend brunch menu. You can see the Reston version of the Makers Union menu below.

As far as timing, we are told the official date of the switch hasn’t been locked in yet, but they are aiming for somewhere around the start of July.
