The slow, inexorable disappearance of California Tortilla restaurants in the area continues with the news that the location in Reston has closed its doors.
The closure of the California Tortilla in the North Point Village Center reportedly happened in late April.
The Reston store is no longer listed on the company’s website. Its online ordering is turned off. Its phone number has been disconnected and its Google listing says “permanently closed.”
It’s the latest closure for the once ubiquitous chain in Northern Virginia.
In 2018, the California Tortilla at the Leesburg Plaza in Leesburg closed. The space is now the home to ResQ BBQ.
And back in 2017, the CT in Sterling closed at the Dulles 28 Centre. It’s now the home of a Chipotle.
In recent years, other locations have closed in Oakton, in Arlington, in DC, and in the Maryland suburbs.
According to the company’s website, the only two locations left in Northern Virginia are one in the Brambleton neighborhood in Ashburn and one over in the Tysons Corner area.
Region wide, the website still lists 26 California Tortilla restaurants in six states and the District.
