Casa de Avila Tacos opens this week in downtown Leesburg

A new Mexican restaurant called Casa de Avila Tacos is coming to downtown Leesburg starting this week.

The restaurant, which is located at 2 Loudoun Street SW, will officially open its doors to the public this Tuesday, June 10 at 11 a.m.

The Burn got a sneak peek at the new restaurant on Sunday as it welcomed friends and family for a practice service.

We sampled the Birria Quesatacos, the Carnitas Tacos, and the Carne Asada Tacos along with the house chips, salsa and guacamole, plus a traditional margarita. All were great – and the humble salsa specifically got raves from our party.

Casa de Avila will be opening with a more limited soft opening menu and then will ramp up and add additional dishes in the coming weeks. You can see the online version of the full menu here.

The Burn first reported on the plans for Casa de Avila back in March. It has taken over the space vacated when a restaurant and brewpub known as Trungo’s moved out.
