Loudoun Soccer launches new programs for its youngest players

Loudoun Soccer continues to roll out updated and expanded programming to enhance its Rec program, particularly for its youngest “Minis” divisions. The Club has partnered with Soccer Stars of Greater Loudoun to deliver fun-filled, age-appropriate curriculum for ages 12 months to 5 years, focused on building fundamental skills, boosting confidence, and inspiring a lifelong love of soccer.

The expanded “Parent & Me” program for 12- to 24-month-olds provides play-based activities and engaging original music to help nurture toddlers’ pre-soccer skills. With the direct support and participation of their adult guardian, kids blend movement and music to help develop balance, coordination, and cognitive growth. Parent & Me is a one-of-a-kind introduction to soccer that you won’t find anywhere else in the DMV – and it’s just as much fun for parents as it is for their kids.

Loudoun Soccer’s traditional Minis program for players 2-5 has also been revamped through Soccer Stars, replacing volunteer coaches with paid professional trainers trained to help build confidence and skills through positive reinforcement and personalized attention. Sessions begin with warm up, followed by skill-building exercise, and conclude with small-sided scrimmages. Our age-appropriate curriculum ensures that children are developing according to their correct developmental level.

“We are excited to work with Soccer Stars to deliver research-based, developmentally-appropriate soccer training for our newest and youngest participants,” said Daryn Patricio, Loudoun Soccer Director of Player Development. “Our grassroots programs focus on and fundamentals while enabling our youngest players to take their first steps on our player pathway.”

Registration for both programs is now open through August 8. Families may register here.
