Update: Whole Foods announces opening day in Reston

Never doubt The Burn. Earlier this week, we broke the news that Whole Foods was aiming for an August date to open its new store in Reston.

Now, just days later, the company has confirmed the date. They will start welcoming shoppers to the new store at the Spectrum at the Reston Town Center on Wednesday, August 6.

As we first reported more than two years ago, Whole Foods is moving from its current location at the Plaza America shopping center to an approximately 43,000 s.f. space up the road. That store opened way back in 1996.

It has taken over the space that was previously a Best Buy store and is nearly double the size of the previous location.

The new store includes a full-service coffee bar and — on opening day — there will be free coffee and snacks, and giveaways for the first 300 customers.
