Sign goes up at Activate gaming venue in Loudoun

A new “active gaming” facility in Loudoun County is drawing nearer to opening date. The installation of the sign over the entrance is the latest step towards the big day.

Called Activate, the venue is taking a large, 9,200 s.f. vacant space at the Cascades Marketplace shopping center in Sterling.

The Burn first told readers about the plans for Activate back in December 2024. It can be found next door to the Taco Bamba restaurant and right by the planned Starbucks drive-thru coffee shop.

It won’t just be the first Activate location in Loudoun, but also the first one in the entire Commonwealth of Virginia.

Activate feature multiple game rooms, each with a different challenge that must be tackled. “Jump, climb, problem-solve and laugh, as you and your friends move between challenges,” the Activate website reads. “Each dynamic game room has interactive technology that reacts in real time, ensuring an adrenaline-filled adventure.”

The opening date for Activate hasn’t been announced yet. The website just says “coming soon.” But we hear things are getting close, so stay tuned.
