Construction has officially started at the upcoming MidnighTreats cookie shop in Reston – and the store’s team is hoping to be open in the next couple of months.
The Burn first broke the news about the new sweet shop last December when we reported that MidnighTreats was moving from a spot near the Plaza America shopping center into the Reston Town Center.
The store is taking a small, roughly 600 s.f. space next door to Playa Bowls facing out on the Fountain Square Pavilion where the ice skating rinks sits each winter.
MidnighTreats specializes in cookies made entirely with plant-based ingredients and less sugar than a typical cookie.

They have four locations – one each in Arlington, Alexandria, and Reston, plus one in College Park, Maryland. The Reston location is temporarily closed as they prepare to make the move to the RTC.
As far as an opening date, nothing has been scheduled yet, but we’re told they are optimistic they will be ready to go sometime this summer.
