We have to issue an apology to our readers. The Burn prides itself on being Northern Virginia’s leading source for fried chicken news – and we dropped the ball.
It turns out that the Velocity Wings restaurant chain added buttermilk fried chicken to its menu a few months back and we didn’t hear about it until today.
The chain has eight locations across the region, according to its website, including Sterling, South Riding, Purcellville, Lovettsville, and elsewhere.
We stopped at the South Riding location for lunch today to try out the chicken. A definite thumbs up. The crispy pieces came served on wooden cutting board, garnished with fries.
The Velocity Wings menu offers a 2-piece meal, a 4-piece meal, plus 8-piece, 12-piece, and 16-piece deals.
They also have a Family Feast, which is 12 pieces plus two large sides. Sides include fries, mac & cheese, green beans, sweet potato fries, and more. They also have biscuits to complement the fried chicken.
