A new restaurant specializing in Peruvian cuisine is coming to Ashburn. It will be called Machu Picchu Restobar.
Machu Picchu – named for the famed 15th century ruins in the Andes Mountains of Peru – is coming to the Ashbrook Commons shopping center. (Hat tip to reader Aaron Song for the news tip.)
That’s near the intersection of Russell Branch Parkway and Ashburn Village Boulevard with the Harris Teeter grocery store, the Jersey Mike’s sub shop, and the Qdoba Mexican Eats restaurant.
Machu Picchu is taking the 2,900 s.f. space that was left vacant when the Ashburn Village Inn closed back in April.
The restaurant will be full service – meaning table service with waiters – and also have a full bar.
Some of specialities of the house will be Peruvian classics such as ceviche, lomo saltado, and pollo a la brasa. You can see the full Machu Picchu Restobar menu below.
The family behind Machu Picchu has a background in restaurants, but this will be a new concept for them. If all goes smoothly, they hope to be ready to open sometime in August.
