Well, here’s a surprising turn of events. The giant At Home home decor and furnishings store in Leesburg is apparently staying open instead of closing down as was previously announced.
Readers may recall that back in June the national company filed for bankruptcy. As part of that filing, At Home announced that it would be closing 26 underperforming stores.
This list included the one at the Compass Creek development near the Leesburg airport.
But now, At Home has had a change of heart. Employees reportedly got the word late Thursday that the store would be staying open.
All the closing signs and sale signs were taken down and – by Friday – it was back to business as usual.
We’re hearing the reprieve in closing may have come about after At Home and the landlord were able to renegotiate the lease – but we don’t have that confirmed from anyone official.
