A strange business situation has developed in Leesburg where a prominent car wash business has apparently shut down after the owner fell ill.
We’re talking about the BriteWash Auto Wash which is located at the Shops at Russell Branch retail center. That’s right by the Leesburg Lowe’s Home Improvement store.
Below is the voice recording that currently plays when you call the BriteWash phone number. It’s so unusual, we are going to share the entire message.
“BriteWash is closed for business indefinitely. As many members know, this enterprise has been working through the challenges of Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection for over one year. During the effort to re-organize and emerge from the bankruptcy proceedings, the owner suffered several serious health issues, inhibiting his ability to continue as the owner/principal for the enterprise. His most recent health setbacks caused him to leave his home to be cared for by family with hopes of eventual recovery.”
“The owner is not taking calls during this time. For members seeking to cancel membership, please contact your credit card provider, indicating your intent to cancel your ongoing membership. The last business day for customer use was June 30, 2025. The owner sends his apologies to his customer base and his associates over the past three years.”
Plans for the BriteWash Auto Wash were first announced in 2020, but construction was slowed by the pandemic. It eventually opened right around the first week of 2022.
There was apparently no notice of the closure. The car wash’s website and Google listings are still active with no mention of closing. And while its social media sites haven’t been updated in a year or more, they are still live.
The Burn has met the owner of BriteWash in the past. It’s a sad situation when an illness disrupts a business plan, much less a dream. We wish him well and hope the right solution is found for the BriteWash location.
