The new Ashburn Recreation Center held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday evening and by Friday morning, the center was full of people working out and playing pickleball and basketball.

The new two-story, 120,000+ s.f. facility has been in the works for years. It’s located at 21105 Coopers Hawk Drive.
It all culminated when hundreds of visitors arrived Thursday to hear speeches by local leaders before given a chance to tour the weight rooms, the gymnasium, the natatorium, the classrooms, the locker rooms, and more.
Visitors were given stickers and souvenirs of the grand opening, including the chance to clip a snippet of their own ceremonial opening day ribbon.

The center is free to visitors all this weekend. Regular Loudoun County parks and rec usage fees and memberships kick in starting on Monday, August 4.
