Every year, it’s a bit of a guessing game – where will the annual Spirit Halloween stores land? And will there be one near you?
The brand has become famous for its seasonal temporary stores that open a few months before Halloween – usually in vacant big box store spaces.
It’s a win-win. Spirit Halloween gets a large space to sell its many decorations and costumes while the landlords get at least some temporary rental income from huge spaces that are sitting empty.
This year, Spirit has announced a slew of local stores across Northern Virginia. This includes one in Sterling and one in Chantilly.
The Sterling location will be in the Sugarland Crossing shopping center off Route 7. That’s the same center with the Burlington store and the Lidl grocery store.
Spirit will be taking the former Party City space that sits next to the Painted Tree Boutique store.
In Chantilly, Spirit Halloween will be landing in the Chantilly Crossing shopping center, near the Target and Costco. It will be occupying the former Office Depot space.
With the announcement last December that Party City was shutting down its stores nationwide, Spirit Halloween has become one of the leading brick-and-mortar retail outlets to find costumes and seasonal accoutrements.
