School of Rock, the leader in performance-based music education, is excited to announce the grand opening of its newest location in Chantilly.
The event will take place on Saturday, August 16, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 4090 Lafayette Center Drive and is free and open to the public. Guests can enjoy live music, school tours, open jams, mini lessons, raffles, and witness the School of Rock tradition of a guitar smashing ceremony to mark the occasion
School of Rock Chantilly is owned and operated by Conner Hitchcock, his wife Lydia Hitchcock, and his mother Mary Hitchcock — a local, music-loving family with deep roots in both education and entrepreneurship.
Conner also co-owns School of Rock Haymarket with Mary, where he has built a strong reputation for student success and community engagement.
A lifelong musician, Conner’s School of Rock journey began at age 12 when he first picked up a bass guitar, driven by sibling rivalry and a passion for music that never faded.
“School of Rock has been part of over half of my life — first as a student, then as a teacher, and now as an owner,” said Conner Hitchcock. “I’ve experienced firsthand how impactful and educational our programs are. School of Rock helps students grow in confidence, build lifelong friendships, pursue their passions, and become better people.”
The grand opening celebration will feature performances by the School of Rock Haymarket House Band and an instructor band from Chantilly.
“We may be a new school, but we’re bringing years of experience and heart with us,” said Mary Hitchcock. “This has always been a family operation, and we’re committed to giving kids and adults in the area a place to grow through music. School of Rock teaches more than just how to play — it teaches confidence, collaboration, and character.”
School of Rock Chantilly offers music programs for all skill levels and age groups, from children as young as three to adults. Students receive weekly one-on-one instruction on guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, or vocals, and participate in group rehearsals that culminate in live performances at real venues.
