Kusshi Sushi ready to roll at new Reston location

They say good things come to those who wait. A year and a half after The Burn first reported on Kusshi Sushi coming to the Reston Town Center, the new restaurant is now days away from opening.

That’s according to the Kusshi Sushi management team that we spoke with Monday.

The sign has been installed on the facade at 11909 Democracy Drive, the former home to Le Pain Quotidien restaurant.

Inside, the space looks great and the staff is putting the finishing touches on the decor and unpacking boxes filled with glasses, dinnerware, and other supplies.

We were told they could possibly start a soft opening yet this week. Otherwise, they anticipate quietly welcoming guests beginning next week.

As we often mention – a soft opening is an opportunity for a restaurant to open its doors without a lot of hoopla in order to give the staff some additional training and make sure all the systems are working properly.

According to the Kusshi Sushi website, there are seven locations for the brand currently in the greater DC area. The Reston store will be No. 8.
