A new Indian restaurant with a clever name is coming to Loudoun County. It’s called Hashtag India and bills itself as “authentic Indian food.”
Hashtag India is coming to the Broadlands Village Center. That’s the retail plaza at Broadlands Boulevard and Claiborne Parkway with the ALDI grocery store, the LA Fitness gym, and the Parallel Wine & Whiskey Bar.
The new restaurant will be taking over the roughly 4,000 s.f. space that was previously the home to another Indian cuisine concept called Akshaya Patra, which opened a year and a half ago.
Akshaya Patra recently said it was closing its doors “temporarily,” but now we know that Hashtag India will be taking over the space.
Hashtag India is based in Irving, Texas near Dallas. According to the company’s website, there are currently eight open locations in Texas, Nevada, and Georgia.
Ashburn will be the first location in Virginia, but stores are also in the works for Maryland and California.
The menu at Hashtag India appears to focus on mandis, which are similar to a biryani – featuring slow-cooked meats served atop aromatic rice.

Other dishes include a Cashew Paneer, a Curry Leaf Chicken, a Chicken Vindaloo, a Mutton Pachimirchi, and various types of naan bread, including a Fire Naan. You can see the full Hashtag India menu here.
No word on when the restaurant will open in the Broadlands. We’ve got a message in for more info, so stay tuned.
