New Qamaria coffeeshop opens this week in Loudoun

A new coffeeshop and community gathering space is ready to open its doors in Loudoun County this week. It’s called the Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co. and we have your first look inside.

As The Burn originally reported last December, Qamaria is opening in the Shoppes at Potomac Corner retail center in Sterling, just off Route 7 at Potomac View Road.

A soft opening will start this Thursday, September 18, and the shop will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. A grand opening celebration will likely be scheduled in October.

The Qamaria brand reportedly has a couple dozen locations open around the country, including one in Vienna here in Northern Virginia.

The new Sterling store is owned by three friends who grew up in the area.

“We intentionally designed the Sterling location to serve as a place for people to come together and cultivate a sense of community,” said Wakar Khan, one of the owners. “We hope to become the neighborhood spot for our community, host local events and bring people together.”

The menu at Qamaria serves all your standard java drinks – your espressos, your mocha lattes, your caramel macchiatos.

It also has a variety of Yemeni beverages such as Adeni Tea, Aidaroos Tea, and Mufawaar, which a blend of medium roast coffee with cardamom and cream.

The menu will also have smoothies and other beverages, baked goods, and some special Middle Eastern sweets like a Basboosa with Cream and a Kunafa Cupcake. You can see the Vienna location’s menu here.
