Sterling has a new bowling alley – sort of. The former Bowlero bowling alley underwent a name change this summer and is now a Lucky Strike.
Longtime residents in the area know this bowling alley as the old Bowl America location at 46940 Woodson Drive.
As consolidation started to happen on the national bowling scene, the Sterling Bowl America became Bowlero in 2023. Then Bowlero acquired the Lucky Strike brand and decided to make that the main name for the business.
So this summer, the big Lucky Strike letters went up on the exterior of the Woodson Drive lanes and the decor started to change on the interior as well.
The old Bowl America had already been given a major facelift when it transitioned to Bowlero – and that process continues. We’re told more improvements are expected in the future now that it is a Lucky Strike.
Despite the new name, you can still find the Bowlero name sprinkled around the lanes, but those will get removed eventually.
The official plan is to eventually turn all Bowlero locations into Lucky Strikes.
We checked with the Leesburg Bowlero at the Village at Leesburg and they confirmed they will be changing brands, but said when that will happen is yet to be determined.
