We continue to follow the progress of the Wonder food hall opening soon in Reston’s Plaza America shopping center.
Wonder had previously announced that they were planning to open on Monday, October 20. We spoke with a member of the Wonder team at the store today and he says that late October is still the target, but no promises.
As anyone who has ever opened a restaurant knows, locking down a date before all the final inspections are done can be a risky proposition. There are often last minute hiccups that can delay an opening.
Meanwhile, signage on the window touts some of the different restaurants that will be operating out of the Wonder Food Hall.
The sign lists eight different concepts. Previously, a longer list of restaurants had been released, so the final lineup may still be in flux.
The brands include: Tejas Barbecue (BBQ), Fred’s Meat & Bread (sandwiches), Yasas (Greek), Limesalt (Mexican), Sweetbird (fried chicken), Alanza Pizza (pizza), Wing Trip (chicken wings), and Burger Baby (burgers and fries).

As The Burn has been reporting, Wonder is a fast-growing brand that plays off the ghost kitchen concept that became popular during the pandemic.
A single kitchen prepares key dishes from popular restaurants around the United States. The primary focus is on delivery and carryout, but the Wonder Food Hall in Reston is expected to have a small dining room as well.
