New Playa Bowls in Leesburg sets grand opening date

A new restaurant focused on healthy superfruit bowls has announced its grand opening date in Leesburg. It’s called Playa Bowls and this will be the brand’s first location in Loudoun County.

As The Burn first reported back in March, Playa Bowls is coming to the Village at Leesburg center off Route 7. It’s going into a space next door to Rita’s Italian Ice.

The grand opening will be this coming Saturday, October 4, starting at 11 a.m. The first 50 customers will get a free bowl and a Playa Bowls t-shirt.

Besides bowls served with all types of fruit, add-ins, and toppings, Playa Bowls also offers smoothies, juices, cold brews, and more. You can check out the store’s menu here.

Playa Bowls is a national brand with locations open or in the works in 31 states. There are a handful here in the Commonwealth, including ones in Reston, Arlington, and Fairfax.

Shops specializing in superfruit bowls continue to be a hot trend here in Northern Virginia, with each brand staking out territory.

As regular readers know, the local South Block brand continues to grow rapidly in the area with more than a dozen locations in the DMV, including one in Ashburn and another coming soon in Reston. They are also preparing to expand to North Carolina.

Meanwhile, Rush Bowls – a national brand – now has two locations in Ashburn. Nautical Bowls has one in Sterling and one in Lansdowne. And, of course, the ever-popular Robek’s has multiple locations around Loudoun and Northern Virginia.
