The new Loco Lion Brewery north of Purcellville in western Loudoun County is just a few days away from its grand opening – and this weekend, The Burn got a sneak preview of the new venue.

As we have been reporting, Loco Lion is coming to a 26-acre plot of land located at 36577 Heskett Lane in Hillsboro.
The British-American themed farm brewery and winery room features a two-story tasting room with an outdoor patio plus a large lawn surrounding it. The view looks over the rolling Virginia countryside.
We say British-American because the owners (one is a Brit, the other American) have given the brewery a bit of a British feel with the names of the beers as well as some of the menu items.

This includes Classic Sausage Rolls wrapped in a puff pastry and served with mustard, and a Bubble & Squeak Pizza with mashed potatoes, cabbage, onions, and Lancashire cheese.

At a sneak preview event on Saturday, friends and family turned out to sample some of the breweries new creations – including a Roaring Red Ale, a Pott’s Pilsner, a Cross-Eyed Kolsch Lite, and a Nigel’s Bitter & Twisted Ale.

At the preview event, a ribbon cutting with local officials and business leaders was held. The grand opening will be this Saturday, October 4.
