Here’s something exciting that you don’t hear every day – a new winery is opening in Loudoun, but one with a unique twist – it’s a sparkling winery.

Petit Domaine is a boutique winery focused exclusively on producing “traditional method” sparkling wine.
The new winery and estate is located at 37938 Charles Town Pike near Hillsboro. That’s about 10 minutes north of Purcellville.
“A sparkling winery brings a different energy to the wine experience,” said J Snyder, Loudoun native and founder of Petit Domaine. “We are specialists in the wine, but we’re also a place for celebration and an elevated hospitality and lifestyle experience. Our goal is to add that dimension to the region’s already remarkable wine landscape.”

The tasting room at Petit Domaine will include a food program created by Eric Ziebold, a Michelin-starred chef known from the restaurants Kinship and Métier in DC.
Shai Van Gelder is the head winemaker overseeing the limited-production lineup of sparkling wines. During the startup phase while Petit Domain’s first harvests are in production, the winery has teamed up with an outside Champagne house to produce its wines.

Initial varieties include a Brut, a Blanc de Blancs, and a Rosé.
The grand opening is scheduled for next Friday, October 24 at 3 p.m. The event will include a ribbon cutting, tours, and a preview of the winery’s wine and food offerings.
